Who can use Autopoint?

Security deposit is the amount you pay upon registration and reflect your seriousness to participate in purchases on the Autopoint online auctions.

What is a security deposit?

Registration

The validity of security deposit is not limited and is valid until you decide that you no longer want to participate in purchases on Autopoint online auctions. In this case, security deposit will be returned to you in full, and your user account will be deactivated.

How long is security deposit valid?

You do not need to renew the security deposit. It is paid upon registration and has no limited validity, regardless of how long you have been active on the Autopoint platform or how many vehicles you buy at auctions. 

Is it necessary to renew security deposit payment?

Security deposit serves as a guarantee for your seriousness in participating in Autopoint online auctions.

Why do I have to pay a security deposit?

You can pay security deposit via Autopoint bank account you will receive upon registration.

How can I pay the security deposit? 

After registering and paying the deposit, you don't need to do anything else. You will receive a notification when your account is activated, and then you can start participating in auctions.

What do I have to do when I pay security deposit?

If you no longer wish to participate in auctions, security deposit will be returned to you in full. You just need to notify Autopoint tema that you no longer want to participate in auctions by sending email to info@autopoint.si.

What happens to my security deposit if I no longer want to participate in auctions?

Auctions are based on principle "whoever offers the most". In the auction, several buyers compete for purchase of a vehicle, submitting their bids for the vehicle by clicking on the appropriate buttons. Each vehicle at auction has a certain starting price, which is visible to everyone, and a minimum selling price, which is set by the seller, but this price is not visible. In auction process, the price of a vehicle increases with offers from potential buyers, and when it reaches or exceeds the minimum selling price set by the seller, the car is sold to highest bidder. When the vehicle price exceeds minimum selling price, the price in the system turns green.

How does auction work?

You can participate in auctions by registering on autopoint.si website and creating a user account. After that, you'll need to pay a security deposit, and once your account is activated, you'll be ready to start participating in auctions.

How can I participate in the auction?

You can stop participating in auctions at any time. You just have to let us know about your intention by sending email to info@autopoint.si.

Can I unsubscribe from Autopoint online auctions?

If you cannot find the answer on the website or you need assistance, please contact us through the contact form or by info@autopoint.si.

Buying via Autopoint from the comfort of your living room is easy, you can choose between different vehicles, we will arrange all documentation for you in one place. All vehicles have or manufacturer warranty or two-year CarGarante extended warranty and are inspected and transparently presented.

Can I participate at auctions as a private person? 

Buying cars at auctions as a private person can have some specific condition. In case of some passenger cars there can be additional cost of extended warranty which can variate depend of the vehicle. It will be stated in the conditions of specific auction if this cost apply to the car you are planning to bid on.

Where can I see which auctions I can participate in?

The number of purchased vehicles is not limited.

How many cars can I buy?

Auctions at which it is in agreement with the seller possible to view vehicles have this stated in the auction conditions.

Can I personally view the vehicles that are on auction?

For each vehicle at auctions, it is indicated whether the price is net or with VAT. For vehicles where price includes VAT, it is also indicated whether it is shown on the invoice or not, but this does not make a difference for you as a private person, since in both cases it is price with VAT which is the final price.

Does displayed price at auctions include VAT?

Initial time allotted for individual vehicle is 1 minute, but if the price has been increased in last 15 seconds, this time is extended by another 15 seconds. In the event that no one raises the offer in last 15 seconds, auction or collection of offers for the vehicle ends.

What happens when time allotted for bidding the vehicle expires? Can this time be extended?

Yes, once your initially set “bid-me-up” price has been exceeded, you can continue to bid at auction by clicking on buttons with amount you want to bid for selected vehicle.

If I set a "bid me up" for the selected vehicle, can I still bid if the price is exceeded?

In the event that your offer is the highest, you will receive notification once the auction ends. 
If minimum selling price for the vehicle is exceeded, you will receive a notification that you have succeeded in the auction and that the vehicle is yours.
In the event where minimum selling price is not exceeded, you will receive a notification that you are highest bidder and that Autopoint team will contact you. In this case, Autopoint team will contact you with aim to try to reach an agreement together with the seller on completion of the sale.


How do I know if my offer for selected vehicle was the highest?

Once a bid has been placed, you cannot withdraw it. If your bid won and you for any reason fail to complete the purchase, Autopoint will withhold your security deposit and deactivate your account.

Can I withdraw my bid?

Of course, number of auctions you can participate in is not limited. Restrictions on participation refer only to legal form of persons who can participate in an individual auction (legal / private person), which is also evident from the name of the auction.

Can I participate in other auctions after the end of auction where I was bidding?

Once auction has gone live you cannot withdraw your car.

Can I withdraw my car from the auction?

After you successfully purchased the vehicle at the auction you will receive invoices for the vehicle and for auction fees with 48-hour payment deadline. When Autopoint will receive your payments, it will pay the vehicle to the seller and arrange all documentation for vehicle collection. Afte that you will be notified about date and location of the collection. This process usually takes app. 10 day.

What happens after I successfully buy the car at the auction?

You can sell your car or multiple cars by contacting Autopoint team or by visiting the Sell page.

How can I sell my car at the auction 

Selling

You can sell a single or several vehicles directly from your Garage, which you can or have created in your profile on the Autopoint web portal.

How can I sell my car at the auction as a car dealer? 

You can request that the car is auctioned with a reserve. The value of reserve is agreed with Autopoint to ensure that it is realistic.

Can I set a minimum selling price?

After auction ends you will be contacted by the member of Autopoint team with information about auction results and further steps in order to transfer the car to new owner.

What happens when auction ends?

When your car is sold at the auction you will be contacted by Autopoint team regarding further processes. You will bring your car to agreed location where it will be deregistered and transferred to the buyer.

What happens when my car is sold at the auction?

You will be contacted by Autopoint team to see if the car can be listed to new auction.  

What happens if there are no bids above reserve price?

Unless otherwise stated in the auction, upon successful purchase you will receive invoices within 24 hours. When Autopoint will receive your payments, it will pay the vehicle to the seller and arrange all documentation for vehicle collection. 
Afte that you will be notified about date and location of the collection. This process usually takes app. 10 day

When can I pick purchased vehicle?

Collection

You will be informed about the vehicle pick-up location after Autopoint completes all formalities related to payments and obtaining the documentation for the vehicle. 
Pickup locations can be directly from the seller or at Autopoint locations.

Where can I pick up purchased vehicle?

Security deposit for participation in the auctions amounts to 500 EUR.

How much is the security deposit?

Fees which apply to the auction can variate and are listed in the terms of each auction.

Which fees do I have to pay when buying at the auction?

The costs for the seller are from 200€ plus VAT for a motorcycle and a personal vehicle.

What is the cost of selling the car via auction as a private person?

The seller for the vehicle pays ownership transfer fee of 20 EUR + VAT.

Are there any additional fees for the seller?

In case of some passenger cars there can be additional cost of CarGarantie extended warranty which can variate depend of the vehicle and starts from 500 EUR. It will be stated in the conditions of the auction if what is precise cost of extended warranty.
